23rd Birthday Celebration!!!!

Saturday July 26 was the big day I turned 23 years old!!!! Though I'm heading into my mid twenties, it seems as if everything is still the same. I'm still a student, still living with my parents and still have the same annoying part time job:( With  that being said, I do truly believe that 23 would be the year where there will be drastic changes to my life. Firstly, I will be finally graduating from university next year which is a dramatic change since I have been in school for the past twenty years of my life. Secondly,  I will have more time to travel the world and visit places I have always dreamt of, and thirdly, I find myself maturing and beginning to find myself.

So for my 23rd birthday I ended up having a small birthday dinner at Cibo Wine Bar on King Street. Though that wasn't my initial plan (to long of a story to explain), I had an amazing time with some old and new friends. Below are some of the pics i managed to take during my special day. Enjoy!!!

Travel Diaries: NYC Shopping [DAY 3]

On our third day of our trip we mostly did our shopping. We spent most of our day in Soho, which was amazing! This was also our last day to go out! :(
[DAY 3]
1. Soho
So this day couldn't get any better! The sun was out and it was a beautiful day, unlike the rainy days we got. We got the chance to see such great stores such as Alexander Wang, Kate Spade, Chanel, Tiffany's, Stella McCartney,Yves St. Laurent, Dior etc... I mean I was in love with this area such a beautiful neighbourhood.
Crop top-Urban Behavior
Necklace-Forever 21
Skirt-Costa Blanca
Booties-Jeffrey Campbell

2. Highline Club
This club wasn't what we expected but we still had fun! Although the DJ was playing mostly big Hip Hop tracks to the wrong type of crowd, it was alright! Jamila and I made the best of it! I mean it was our last night in the big city.

 Cover up & bag-H&M
Earrings-Forever 21
Dress-American Apparel
Jamila and I were sad to leave but learned a lot from this city in those three days. If you want something you gotta hustle to get it! We both felt this mentality in New York because it is such a fast paced city. Although we aren't New Yorkers, we became New Yorkers at heart for those three days.We miss the views and the music and pray we can go back soon...

Travel Diaries: NYC Sight Seeing [DAY 2]

So here is the second day of our big travel to NYC. I will consider this day our sight seeing day. We did a lot in this day. We are troopers! We did so much exploring and walking around the city of course we were tired but we didn't stop.
[DAY 2]
1. The Brooklyn Bridge
I am just going to say this. If you haven't been to the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City you haven't seen New York. It has to be on the most beautiful monuments in this city. Although it was raining a bit it was still breathtaking it just captured the most beautiful view of the city.

 2. Amy's Ruth (Harlem)
This has to be hands down the best soul food place ever. I thought that Harlem's Underground was amazing but this was another level. Jamila was so right about this place! I loved the Harlem neighbourhood, I just loved its culture and we had everything we needed for great prices in one area.
3. Cake Boss Cafe
The Cake Boss Cafe was so packed but we were glad the lineup went by so fast. Jamila and I wanted to see what the hype was all about it and since we couldn't travel to New Jersey to the actual bakery we got to taste some great treats! Their cannolis were amazing!

4. 40/40 Nightclub + Gansevoort Hotel
This had had to be the best night ever! We had a blast! We first decided to hit up 40/40 nightclub unfortunately due to the rain the place was empty but had amazing music spinning. We were sipping on Watermelon *Beyonce voice* and had fun but then decided to go to the Gansevoort Hotel were we spent the rest of our night. We had so much fun we left at like 4:30AM lol! DJ Chase was the sickest DJ I have ever heard spin. Overall this night was amazing!
